Do the apps need to be original?

No, it does not. Existing applications can qualify as long as it uses Kii Cloud. As mentioned in the description, depth of integration with Kii Cloud is one of the judging criteria.

If I win, is everyone on the team invited to go to Hawaii?

Unfortunately, because of the high cost, Kii will only pay the expenses for one representative per winning team.

What are the details for the Hawaii trip?

We are still busy planning it, but it will be a 4-day, 3-night event on the Big Island of Hawaii, and will include fun in the sun as well as other festivities. More information will be available later.

How many apps can I submit?

As many as you want, provided you publish each on the Kii Cloud Developer Portal http://developer.kii.com and in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) or via web site (mobile web app).

What mobile platforms are supported?

iOS, Android, mobile web and others are supported by the Kii Cloud SDK. For more info, please visit http://developer.kii.com

If I win, how is the cash prize delivered?

The winners will be paid by US check or wire transfer dependent on winners’ preferences and local legal requirements.

Do I still own the rights to my application?

Yes, the app is yours, you retain full rights

Do I have to provide the application source code?

No, you do not.

What can Kii do with my app?

We reserve the right to use your app in marketing campaigns, media, and any other forms of promotional material. We’ll refer you as the author but will mention that the app is powered by Kii Cloud.

How can I provide Kii with access to test my application if it hasn’t been approved yet by the relevant application store?

If you developed an iOS app and it has not yet been approved by the app store, you can send it to us via TestFlight. Please email the TestFlight invite link to contest@kii.com.

If you are submitting an Android app, you must upload an .apk file with your submission.

For web or mobile web apps, please include a link to the website URL in the “Website URL” field of the submission form.
